I love books. Love love LOVE books. I own a lot. The thing with me is, I usually won’t read a book from start to finish (unless, of course, it’s an amazing novel) but I have read in every single one of my books. This possession of a lot of books comes with a price, good book shelving! That is something I do not have. I have some built-in shelves in my room, but nothing to write home about. Whilst browsing one of my favorite home decor sites, Home Sweet Home, I came across some A-MAZING shelving. I thought I would share, enjoy!

Aaaaahh, the site of books is just so refreshing, it’s such a timeless art. I love them.

And I leave you with this little proverb I found…It rings true.

yep, that’s right…I had a birthday weekend. And I LOVED it. Birthday weekends are the BEST. When my birthday falls on a weekday, I make it a birthday week…so this year my family got a break since my actual birthday was on a Saturday! Ahhhhh New York! How I love that place. I try to go at least once a year. It is so full of inspiration, amazing sites, and fabulous times. This year, the Boy and I decided to take his boys up for a weekend of touristy adventures, since they were so bummed we didn’t include them on our last trip to the Big Apple.

Here are some peeks at the ride up, sites we saw, and laughs we had.

I have never ever, in all my trips to New York, done the tourist like activities. They are so much FUN! We took the ferry to the Statue of Liberty, took a million photos, then made our way to Ellis Island, where we bought the audio tour. That was amazing! Had we not done the audio tour, we would have missed out on so much of that history that Ellis Island holds. It’s amazing! And quite emotional, the Boy caught me crying at least twice. What can I say? I’m a basket case of emotions.

We ate the most amazing Italian cuisine in little Italy, absolutely fabulous. Had some conolis for dessert (the boys did at least, for some reason I can’t stand those things) and called it a night, we were exhausted. The four of us crammed into a rather nice hotel room for the night, and the next morning hit the shops! The snow made for a not so productive shopping spree, but at least it wasn’t absolutely detrimental to my bank account.

All in all, it was a fantastic way to spend our President’s Day weekend, and it was just so wonderful to spend time together, just the four of us.

This year, I had a fabulous Valentine’s with a fabulous guy. He’s pretty awesome, and does some mega nice things. We decided to keep it simple ( I LOVE simplicity) I made him a yummy breakfast, and he made me a scrumptious dinner. It was very nice indeed.

Here are some peeks from our day…enjoy. (rather image heavy, nothing crazy though)

I made him XOXO french toast, sunny side up eggs, and served him fresh strawberries and coffee in his favorite mug (a Bears fan, none the less). I got major brownie points for this, fo sho.

The thing about us is that we love, and I mean LOVE to eat! We’re always cooking up yummy meals together. He did a phenomenal job on this one, and wouldn’t let me help one bit! The wine was probably the best I’ve ever had, those cheeses were delish, and he did a fantastic job on the steak! It was a scrumptious dinner!

We, of course, had our two spectators, keeping an eye out on any little bits of food that fell to the ground. My cuties!

The card I made him. I’m all about making cards, like, all about it.

It was probably the most lovely Valentine’s Day I’ve ever had.

Here’s to many more love.
